THE ROUTE: Starting from the Central Hotels (Porto Conte / Corte Rosada Resort) to go to Alghero, pass by the Lingomare and enter the competition route of the “GiroSardegna” cyclists riding along the splendid Alghero-Bosa coastal road in a continuous up and down panoramic sea view. Once in Bosa (55 ° km), cross the Temo River and at the division of the race routes take the GranGiro route that goes up to Magomadas: at that point, as soon as you enter the SS292, you leave the race course and you will goes to cross the beautiful Cuglieri (75° km) starting to climb up to the “Cima Coppi” of the day (85° km – “La Madonnina” of Santulussurgiu – 880 m.) and then descend to the other side of the mountain and stay, basically, in the internal Sardinian plateau first going through Macomer and then, between Nuraghi and pastures, brushing Pozzomaggiore (125° km), Montresta and Villanova Monteleone to descend on Alghero enjoying the view of its Gulf of Corallo from the hairpin bends of Scala Piccada (180° km – a remarkable sight!) And, after having re-crossed the inhabited area of the beautiful Catalan city, we return to the starting point.
Definitely beautiful Mare and Monti route, with very few crossings of inhabited areas (in fact it only crosses Alghero and Macomer), so much Sardinian territory to be enjoyed during the late spring blooms and … almost no cars on the route!
